Bob Placido, PGA Professional ~ Pleasant Run & Sarah Shank
Bob Placido's work history represents 49 years experience in the golf business. At the age of fifteen he was introduced to golf by a buddy and shot 52 at his first attempt. His interest in golf immediately took precedence over basketball and baseball. He caddied double bags, 36 holes a day at a private club in Massachusetts, becoming #1 caddy. This entitled him to play golf on Mondays. Fortunately, he was taken under the wing of a great teacher who helped him develop as a player. He made the golf team and played #1 during his Junior and Senior year of high school, competing in Junior Tournaments in the East.

Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving four years in Security Police at a SAC Base. During this time, he had multiple orders cut and in the Spring was given temporary duty to the golf course. He gained valuable experience in turf management under the guidance of an excellent greens superintendent. Bob has been a Pro-Superintendent for the greatest majority of these years, sharing the dual love of competition, teaching and improving the golf experience by golf course beautification.

Bob has been active in the Indiana PGA Section, he has been a Board Member, Memberhsip Chairman, and Tournament Chairman.

Bob is a very accomplished player and has won the Indiana PGA Section Championship, and the Indiana PGA Senior Championship to name a few.

Bob has been married to Nancy for 47 years and they have 5 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

"I've been privileged to promote what I really believe, GOLF IS THE GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED".

As you can see, we are very blessed to have Bob's knowledge and work ethic. But most importantly, a role model to look up to.
