2010 Pleasant Run Summer Junior Clinics

June 21 – 25, 2010

Pleasant Run Junior Clinics are a great way for Junior Golfers to learn and or sharpen their golf skills through 4 Hours of Golf Instruction from our PGA trained golf staff and 2 Hours of on course playing experience. Clinics are open to boys and girls ages 8-17.

The total cost for the week is $50.00 per student.

2010 Nike Junior Golf Camp

Hosted by Pleasant Run Golf Course

The 2010 golf camp will be the 17^th year at Pleasant Run which is open to any male or female junior golfer between the ages of 12 and 17 (any younger must be approved). We would like the player who is involved in a school golf team, playing in junior golf tournaments, or who has knowledge of the game of golf. For those looking for clinics on the game of golf in order to improve your game, look at our scheduled clinic dates which will be $10 per session. Play will be every Thursday at 7:30am and will consist of 18 Holes. The club cost will be $22.00 per player which will include a Nike Valuables Pouch, ½ Dozen Nike Golf Balls, Awards, & Lunch on the last day of league play. (Club fee must be paid by cash or check only) The green fees each week will be $12.00 unless you would like to prepay and the total cost of 9 weeks will be $99 (a savings of $1 per week).

If you played in 2009 and would like to play in 2010, all you need to do is register and pay before the deadline of June 6, 2010. (You do not need to schedule a try out)

For a new participant, one must register and schedule a meeting with our staff for approval to participate in the program. Call the golf shop to schedule a time with one of the PGA Golf Professionals (317) 357-0829.

Junior League**We reserve the right to remove the participant from the program without refund due to discipline rules, lack of golf etiquette and rules, and lack of golf experience in relationship to maximum scores posted. The program is for one who has played the game and wants competition.

JUNIOR GOLF CAMPS

The 2010 junior golf camp will be a one week golf camp designed for children to learn all aspects of the game of golf. The camp will cover rules and etiquette, chipping, putting, pitching, driving, iron play, bunker play, and on-course strategies. On the last day the children will be taken out on the course to play as many holes as time permits, then there will be a cookout and awards presentation afterwards. The children will receive professional, hands-on instruction from Certified Golf Professionals. The swing fundamentals being taught will cover grip, stance and set-up, ball position, takeaway, proper pivot motion, and the elements to a smooth follow-through. The camp promises to be fun, interactive and packed with great instruction.

The junior camp will be held on the week of JUNE 14 THRU JUNE 18. The camp is open to all children ages 5-18. The golf camp will run from 8:30 am till 10:00 am(children ages 5-11) and 10:30 am till noon (children ages 12-18). However, if you have more than one child attending and would like them to be in the same time frame, then we will certainly be accommodating to this situation. The last day of our camp will be our Junior Club Championship (all juniors will play golf from 8:30 am till 10:30 am with lunch and awards afterwards). The children will organize into age groups and compete against children in their age group.

The cost for the golf camp is $75 (Per Child) , also there is a $10.00 discount for 2 or more family members attending camp. This will include a camp gift, over 8 hours of instruction with Certified Golf Professionals and a closing cookout and awards ceremony at the Junior Club Championship.

CAMP SCHEDULE

{Ages 5– 11} 8:30– 10:00 {Ages 12– 18} 10:30– Noon

Mon. registration and hand out camp gift- cover rules, proper course etiquette, and safety precautions.

Tues. Cover basic swing fundamentals including grip, stance and set-up, and ball position. Practice the proper fundamentals involved with pitching and short iron play. Conclude session with several contests!

Wed. Teach correct takeaway and introduce the basic concepts of the first part of the golf swing. Incorporate the proper pivot motion matched up with the correct arm swing. Practice iron play and driving.

Thurs. Instruct juniors on the fundamentals with hitting proper bunker shots. Teach juniors the mechanics involved with consistent putting and chipping. Instruct students on the proper fundamentals involved with developing a nice, consistent follow-through. Conclude session with closest to pin contests!
